On April 15th, our Middletown Village School Community came together
to help jump start funds for The Timothy Pauxtis Foundation and its Scholarship
Fund. About 120 children from kindergarten through fifth grade came out to shoot baskets. The children were given exactly one minute to dunk as many baskets
as they could. We were amazed that so many of the children made up to 20 baskets
in a minute! Pledges were taken from family and friends based on how many
baskets were made. The children truly understood what they were doing. They
all felt good about raising money for such a good cause.
The day also included a fantastic DJ, face-painting, tattoos and a great bake sale.
We had two free-standing basketball hoops, donated by Modells, which were raffled
off at the end of the event. We also had 20 other door prizes ranging from an autographed jersey, basketballs and NY Ranger backpacks.
Hoops for Health was a day where our community came together to show support
for our family. Timmy has not been forgotten. Our family has not been forgotten.
We are so grateful…especially to all our wonderful friends who helped put this event together. It was a bigger success then any of us ever anticipated!
