There are a number of Committees within the Timothy Pauxtis Foundation. Among the standing committees are:
Planning
The Planning Committee shall establish the overall direction for the organization. It will establish short term plans to allow the organization to meet its mission of annual research awards and scholarships. The Planning Committee will also establish a multi-year plan to allow the organization to meet its long term goal of establishing a pediatric brain tumor research endowment.
Advisory
The Advisory Committee will act as a liaison between the organization and various communities. This liaison will allow the Advisory Committee to provide updates to the organization's website so that such information is kept timely and accurate. This committee will also keep the organization informed of local pediatric brain tumor developments (new cases).
Grants
&
Awards
The Grants and Awards Committee will be responsible for setting the guidelines to be used to award research grants, and academic scholarships. The Grants and Awards Committee will establish annual timelines to be used to evaluate requests for research funding. The Grants and Awards committee will establish the criteria for the annual academic scholarship.
Finance
The Finance Committee will have several functions. The Finance Committee will act as an audit group reviewing receipts (income and expenses) to ensure that proper record retention is in place to satisfy annual filings needed to retain not-for-profit status. The Finance Committee will review proposed events and accompanying revenues and costs. The Finance Committee will provide the Board of Directors with a commentary on the prganization's revenue and expenses, and recommendations for the current years grants and awards. The Finance Committee will monitor and evaluate the research endowment fund.
Events
The Events Committee will be responsible for deciding on fund raising events. The Events Committee will make recommendations to the Board of Directors as to which events should be pursued. The Fund Raising Committee may form sub-committees for particular events depending on that events demand.
